INT:<\/strong> You think the corporations has more power than governments?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy1:<\/strong> If i Do think corporations has more power than governments? A few years ago I would have said no. But today I would say definitely yes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> How do you feel about your job?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy1:<\/strong> How do I feel about my job? Well, if it paid a little more, I think I’d like it better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> How do you feel about being a member of the Information Age?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Well, until I walked. How do I feel about being a member of the Information Society?<\/p>\n\n\n\n That’s a difficult question because I didn’t know we were in the information society. By information society, I presume you mean computers and so forth. I think it’s terrific. Without it, we wouldn’t be nearly what we are today. It gives us the opportunity to grow both as human beings and scientifically and make advancements we wouldn’t have made otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> What’s your job?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy2:<\/strong> Computer. Programming. The word computer programming. Computer tape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> Computer. Good. And your friend, does he works with you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy3:<\/strong> Yes, we work in the same company. That’s what we’re working on now. Getting it operating on every professional field.<\/p>\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> You think the corporations has more power than governments?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy2:<\/strong> Government or Corporation? Corporation! (smiles)<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> Are you happy about your job?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Girl:<\/strong> My job? We’re an information based society and this going just to accentuate through time. I don’t think we can change it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> What do you think about that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Girl<\/strong>: I think it’s not necessarily bad, but for sure, technology has outdated politics and so, it outdated the protection that was granted for any citizen till a few years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> Hello, what’s your job?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy3:<\/strong> What’s my Job? The fixed income salesman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> How do you feel about contemporary society?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy3:<\/strong> It’s good. There’s a lot of opportunity there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> Do you think the power is in society members?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy3:<\/strong> No (smiles). Nobody but you want to admit this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> So, where does power stays?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy3:<\/strong> Just look who controls money and rules finance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> What’s the first thing thatcomes into your head?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy3:<\/strong> Bureaucracy. Well, there’s too much bureaucracy going on today. Money are controlled by finance and bureaucracy keeps people away from social mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> What is your job?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy4:<\/strong> My job is..I’m a partner and investment advisory firm in Wall Street, and I manage accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> Do you get as much as. You need?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy4:<\/strong> You mean if i get as much information as I need, when I need it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Generally speaking, yes. Most corporations, either voluntarily or legally today, are required to give just about every little detail of their operations. So the answer would be yes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> Are you optimistic about the future?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy4:<\/strong> Oh, am I optimistic about the future? Yes, extremely so. We have some problems that especially with the oil situation, but I think will be overcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> The problem, I think, is in Washington there just you can put a man on the moon and yet you can’t come up with a synthetic fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guy4:<\/strong> I don’t agree with that conclusion. I think we will overcome it as the people rally around the old American tradition and come and do their job.<\/p>\n\n\n Today we are going to publish an old interview to random newyorkers, let’s see how different we are today, compared to 1979.
